Merry Christmas

Here are some pictures of what we've been up to this break.
This is Janey helping me cook for Christmas Eve dinner with Joe's family. We had a great time and thanks to this dinner people actually got to see the Christmas decorations I put up.Christmas day blowing bubbles with grandma and Kimber.
It was a beautiful day as evidenced by Kimber's shorts.
Opening gifts. Janey wasn't as into the tearing things open as we thought she would be, but she was all for the toys after they were open.

Playing with her gifts from mom and dad and grandma and grandpa. We got the table at the thrift store for $3 and repainted it. It fits perfectly in the kitchen and Janey loves it.

Christmas was great to us this year. We got to spend a lot of time with each other and most of the rest of our families ... which we love doing. The only downside to the last couple weeks was our car breaking down Christmas night and costing $800 to fix. But, even that wasn't that bad. We broke down close to my parents' house, so my dad came to the rescue with his AAA card and my brother, Sean, just so happened to be going to his friend's house right at that moment who just so happens to live right next to our house. How lucky are we?

Oh Christmas Tree

She cannot keep her hands off! As a result, the decorations have migrated upwards a bit making the tree look a little sloppy.
And here's one of Joe at his second home. One more week and we actually get to see him ... for a couple weeks at least.

November

The month has flown by. Joe and I were super sick for a week or so. Before we got TOO sick I took a day off work and he took the morning off school and we spent a morning together as a family at Prisidio Park. Then we got sick and stayed at home for a week cooped up. Janey was thrilled to have her daddy all the time.



After we got a little better, Janey and I went to Sea World for a couple hours. Their Christmas stuff is out and amazing. Yes, there is an ice skating rink behind the Christmas Tree. We had fun until we sat too close to Shamu and he soaked us. Good thing we live 2 minutes away and could go home and take a warm bath.

Because Joe took the week off of school, he had to catch up. Janey and I gave him the house to study and went to the desert with my family for Thanksgiving. We had so much fun. I think this vacation was made for Janey. She got to play in the dirt without anyone telling her not to and there were lots of other kids and dogs for her to play with.
She also got to sleep cuddled up next to mommy.

This was her favorite place ... on the dash of the motor home. I think Molly the dog wasn't too happy about her taking her spot.

Now we are home and trying to get back into our routines and Janey has a cough :(!

Halloween

Wow! Halloween was so much fun this year. It must be the whole having a kid thing for whom the holiday was made.
We started the holiday at my parents' place where my dad personally grew amazing pumpkins for us to carve. He carved this one.I carved this one (its supposed to be a skeleton ... bad angle, promise). Janey actually enjoyed the messy process, but got bored after the half hour it took to clean it out (so big).

At work we have some people we go visit everyday to give them their mail and they gave this cute little pail full of yummy candy to Janey. She loved the pail and walked around the rest of the day holding it like this ... I loved the candy.
I couldn't resist posting these pictures of Janey trying on her costume, they are just so cute.
Halloween night was spent at the Ward Trunk or Treat party. It was a super fun night with a whole carnival and dinner. The couple that put it on got called 6 days beforehand to be activity's chair and did a marvelous job. I do not envy them.
I am Little Miss Muffet, Joe is my husband (Mr. Muffet) and Janey is the spider. People kept asking all night if we were pilgrims. One girl asked if we were polygamists ... uh only one wife here. Next year I am going as something more mainstream, like a Disney princess, so I won't have to explain to EVERYONE.
