SD County Fair

Janey and I went to the SD County Fair today. We parked about a mile away so we could get free parking and get shuttled in. In the past that's always been the way to go, but this time it took about an hour to get from my car just to the metal detectors. There were long lines for everything and weaving in and out of all the people was a nightmare (and I didn't even bring the stroller). BUT, seeing how much Janey loved all the animals made it all worth it, especially the "baby goats" (I think they were really pygmy goats and they really were super cute). Until we had to wait another hour to get back to our car and then another hour sitting in traffic to get home. I treated us to In 'n' Out on the way home and it really was in and out (which was a nice break from the mass amounts of waiting we had just endured).

The day ended with me wondering if she could be any cuter.

Long Lost Friends

Ellen moved back, yay!! At least one person listened to my rule. JLo came back to visit and that meant we got to see Mary too. Hurray for seeing long lost friends and their multiple children.
Janey wanted to draw a "fwower" for me. She was pretty into it and spent a good deal of time on it.

The Other Stuff

Thank goodness for Sea World and year passes to lure north county friends and family down to visit us.

Yes, it was my birthday, and I am now older. For people's birthdays at work the office buys lunch and sometimes a cake, but never with writing on it. I felt very special, not only because it doesn't usually happen at work, but because I don't think I've had a cake with my name on it since I was 10. And it was a super delicious Heath bar ice cream cake. Joe says it should have had a drawing of a man on it and it would have been perfect. Heath-man ... hahaha. Janey was a fan also.
I cleaned out Janey's closet the other day and decided I didn't really want to hang on to this swing anymore, so I got it out to give away. Janey is in love with it, which I guess shouldn't be surprising since she loves any and all baby seats, but she hated when she was an actual baby. I guess we'll hang on to it for now considering I don't really care if she breaks it since I was going to give it away anyway. If anyone is in need of a baby swing and wants this one before Janey breaks it, please let me know.
Saturday was Janey's buddy Curtis' birthday. We had a wonderful time swimming and playing. And he got the best gift ever ... a Tonka truck. Like I mentioned before, this girl loves chairs/seats whatever form they come in. Curtis was pushing her around for a little bit, but then decided he needed a turn, it was his truck after all.
It was also nap time.
And now we're all caught up. Hopefully, now I can keep up so I won't have to overwhelm blogger again. And I'll even try to get pictures of people other than The Janey.

Long Lost Family

I know I say I'm always so busy, so I never have time to post, but I am so busy and I never have time to post.
There has been so much going on since I last posted that all the pictures wouldn't fit in one post. So, I'm breaking it up into two: the first was what we did while Joe's dad and stepsister were here and the other is just all the other stuff.
These pictures are of the tour Joseph gave us and his dad of his campus. The above picture is where Joe found a cockroach and decided to show it to Janey. She got super excited about watching it scurry around and was really upset when the "buggy" ran away into the bushes. Joe then decided to find other "buggies" so she wouldn't be upset anymore. Who knew one could get so attached to a bug they had just met.We then found some empty court rooms. The 3 justices.

And the witness. Not really, it just looked right. This is Janey bearing her testimony in an empty primary room rather than sitting in Sacrament Meeting.
We spent a lot of time at Joe's sister Heather's house. She has amazing fruit trees on her street and we did quite a bit of picking and eating. This is Joe and Janey picking mulberries ... so yummy.
Heather's daughter Sierra decided to get herself pretty stuck in a baby swing. It took them maybe 10 minutes to get her out. It was pretty funny, but I think the funniest part was when Joe's dad was lamenting not getting it on video, Sierra decided to get herself re-stuck so it could be captured. Unfortunately, I had already left and I don't think anyone was there to capture it.
Here is Janey petting a non-deer at the Wild Animal Park when we went with Michelle and Olivea. The girl whose nose you can see in the picture was getting pretty annoyed that everyone kept calling this creature a deer because baby deer have spots and this animal clearly doesn't. I looked on the board and saw that is was, in fact, not a deer, but I don't remember what it was, and the girl didn't know either, only what it wasn't.
Now these are deer.
And these are three monkeys and a giraffe.

I think there needs to be a rule that all our family lives in San Diego forever.
Joe's gracious grandparents had the whole family (and then some) to their house for a delicious bbq. Janey spent a good amount of time making faces at herself in the mirror then laughing at herself. I was thoroughly entertained as well. And that is Joe's handsome brother in the back. I have realized that I don't take very many pictures of anyone other than Janey. Oh well, most people aren't as cute.

And that is all I have. We had fun while it lasted, please think about that rule I mentioned.
